#1 mistake artists are making post-release (and how to fix it!)

Hey friend!

So, you’ve just dropped a new song—congrats! 🎉 But if you're like most artists, you might be making a huge mistake right now…

You don’t have a post-release plan.

Releasing your song is just the beginning. If you’re not following up with the right moves, your song could disappear into the void (and we don’t want that).

In my latest video, I break down 3 things artists AREN’T doing after releasing their music—but absolutely should be.

Here’s a quick rundown:

📢 1. Promoting on social media AFTER release day

The hype shouldn’t stop once your song is out. Keep posting content—performance clips, behind-the-scenes stories, fan reactions, lyric breakdowns—whatever keeps people engaged and reminds them to listen. Your song is new to someone every day!

🎧 2. Pushing for playlist placements

Getting on playlists isn’t just a release-day move. Keep submitting to curators, reaching out to independent playlists, and encouraging your fans to add your song to theirs. The more playlists your track lands on, the more organic growth you’ll see.

💬 3. Engaging with your listeners

If you’re not interacting with your audience, you’re missing a massive opportunity. Reply to comments, DM fans, ask questions, and create conversations around your song. The more connected people feel, the more likely they are to keep streaming and sharing.

I break these down further in my latest video—watch it here 👇

Are you doing these things? Or are you making one of these mistakes?

Talk soon!
